Shawn Calley is the 2012 Top Chef Winner
Shawn Calley of Amuse at the Essex Resort & Spa defended his title and won the 6th Annual Top Chef of the Champlain Valley to benefit CVAA's Meals on Wheels and Case Management Programs. The Top Chef of the Champlain Valley is brought to you by KeyBank and was held on August 6 at UVM's Davis Center from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. Michael Clauss of the Bluebird Tavern and Andrea Cousineau of the Bearded Frog competed with Shawn for the Top Chef title.

This year, in addition to the Top Chef Competition, there was a fan favorite battle happening in the ballroom. Some of the area's top restaurants participated in the Taste of the Top Chef. Restaurants and catering companies donated hors d'oeuvres for the audience at the Top Chef to enjoy. Chef Steve McElroy of The Arbors at Shelburne won the Taste of the Top Chef Award with a Smoked chicken crostini with goat cheese berries and arugula with balsamic beer drizzle (made with local Vermont products)
