Healthy Aging Programs

Risks associated with advancing age may actually be reversed!

Imagine being 82 with limited mobility and balance, falling to the ground and not being able to get up! Fear of falling and bone fractures is a great concern for seniors in this age group. Imagine that same 82 year-old taking a 12-week strength training course, walking without a cane, able to stand and balance on one leg and easily get up.

Healthy Aging (what we also call Successful Aging) comes in many shapes and forms. Seniors are living longer and improving their health and quality of life by including physical, mental and social activity in their daily lives.

CVAA is seriously committed to spreading the message of Healthy Aging to our seniors. Physical activity classes are offered all over our four county area.

CVAA Healthy Aging programs include:

  • Strong Living Program - list of programs
  • A Matter of Balance Program
  • RSVP Bone Builders
  • Intergenerational activities
  • Computer classes
  • Nature walks, mall walks, bike path walks
  • Interactive dance, music and storytelling
  • Workshops on depression, medication management, mentoring and stress reduction
  • Foot Clinics - 2007, 2008
  • And much, much more
