About Jamie Cope

Jamie Cope is considered one of the most prolific portrait artists of elders. Her work has been published and exhibited for 27 years. During this time she also produced documentaries interviewing hundreds of elderly for radio and television series. Her work has been published in Time, Newsweek, New Choices, The International Christian Science Monitor, The Gerontologist (7 covers), Vermont Life, Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Burlington Free Press, and others. She has received grants from NEA, New England Foundation for the Arts, IBM, Honeywell, Polaroid, the Gulbenkian Foundation. Her work is in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, DeCordova Museum, AARP, Harvard and MIT archives. Palm Press, Inc. has printed limited editions of Dr. Harold Edgerton (23) and Maud Morgan (50). She lives in Montpelier, Vermont and continues to photograph the beauty of aging.
